Ecosense

Ecosense is an online carbon accounting service (SaaS) for enterprise emissions that aims to increase climate change awareness among staff and management. Hosted on the Windows Azure cloud, it is a 100% availability service that requires no installation or setup fees.

Office buildings account for 19% of all commercial energy consumption. As part of their restructuring efforts, customers license ecosense to effectively measure and manage the cabron footprint of its people, vehicles and sites.

Ecosense follows a bottom up approach: employees input own data as they learn about climate change. People and departments compete to reduce emissions, while management can input company-wide data on energy bills etc. Microsoft cloud technology was a key factor in creating strong visualization and reports for employees, business units, buildings etc.
